About Us

1981
Rates

In 1981 the price for the first 1000 gallons was a $15 minimum, the next 4000 gallons were $2 per 1000 gallons, the next 15,000 gallons at $1 per 1000 gallons and over 20,000 gallons were $.50 per 1000 gallons.  The rates were later changed to $24 for 3000, $28 for 4000, $31 for 5000, then $2 per 1000 to 15,000 then all usage over 15,000 was $1 per 1000. All rates were assessed at the current sales taxes.

1994
Third Well

In 1994 a third well was drilled and the fees were changed to $26 for the minimum charge plus $2.25 per 1000 gallon usage.   In 1998 a second tower was built west of Eagle and in 1999 a booster station north of Eagle was installed.

2003
Fourth Well

The District had a fourth well drilled in 2003.  During the summer of 2003 drive-by readers were installed for every meter in the district and meters are still being read this way today.  Automatic bank withdrawal was initiated in January 2004 and many Participating Members have chosen to take advantage of is this convenient way to pay. The District still has this option available now to Participating Members in 2019.

2004
First Generator

Our first generator was installed and activated in March 2004 and now in 2019 we have backup generators at all sites.  An assistant manager became necessary because of growth and was hired in March 2004.

Currently, we have 796 Participating Members – The District also provides water to the Village of Murdock.  The average usage for a Participating Member in the District is 8000 gallons per month.

2019
180 Miles of Distribution

As of January 2019 we have 4 wells, 2 water towers, and a booster station all delivering water through over 180 miles of distribution pipe.  The District covers the territory from 3 miles north of Murdock south to Highway 2, 2 miles east of Elmwood to 1/2 mile west of Walton. (An outline map is included on this website.)

The Board of Directors is made up of  3 Participating Members who serve three-year terms representing their respective townships plus 4 who represent the District as a member-at-large.  The 7 board members meet the second Thursday of every month at the District office and these meetings are open to the public. The Districts annual meeting is held once a year on the second Thursday of April.
